We had a fantastic stay at this hostel. the staff were helpful, lovely, and funny. the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, and the roommates were friendly. the location was great, with a supermarket, restaurants, shops, and transportation nearby. the breakfast was delicious and offered a variety of Portuguese and international options. We also enjoyed the organized activities, like the Saturday night party and barbecue. the hostel truly made us feel at home and we would highly recommend it.
That there was sometimes a wait at reception due to the lack of staff availability.

Staying at this hostel is a blast! the staff is super attentive and always keeps you entertained. the installations are top, notch, with perfect showers and a well, equipped kitchen. And the best part? the bar fridge is always fully stocked, so you'll never go thirsty. Plus, the hostel is very clean, even the bathrooms are spotless. the common areas are cool, with a ping, pong table for some friendly competition. You'll be impressed by the friendly staff and the charming atmosphere of this place.
It's a shame that there's a lack of curtains in the rooms, as the amount of light can be too much at times.

I booked this hostel last minute for a one-night stay before my flight. Ended up meeting amazing people - staff and travelers. Le Penguin has a close-knit family vibe, like we've known each other forever. Shout-out to Saja, a fellow Brit who made me feel part of the family. Best hostel I've stayed at with great facilities, stocked kitchen, games room, and fun evening entertainment. Convenient location next to the airport bus stop and a shopping center across the road.
Can recommend this hotel.

I had an amazing stay at a comfortable hostel with a delicious breakfast. The receptionist was friendly and made me feel welcome. The kitchen was good and well-equipped, and the breakfast options were wonderful. The hostel itself was comfortable and had a great atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond to make sure guests were happy and there were even organized events for socializing. The location was not too far from the city center, about a 20-minute walk from the train station. The only minor drawbacks were the lack of privacy curtains on the bunk beds and occasionally slow internet in the evening. But overall, I highly recommend Le Penguin for a great and enjoyable stay.

The location of the hotel was perfect, with plenty of people around and a great atmosphere. We were able to meet new people and have a fun and lively time. The breakfast served in the lounge was a pleasant surprise, with a variety of options including toasties, cereal, fruit. Additionally, the available dinner was well-priced and offered a good variety of meat and vegetarian options.
That there was no air conditioner in the room, and even though it was there, it didn't feel like it was working effectively. Another issue was the unstable beds, which felt like they would collapse with even the slightest movement.

The hostel is centrally located, making it easily accessible by foot from the bus station. It also has a supermarket nearby, which is convenient. the rooms are comfortable with soft beds and the breakfast served every morning is delicious. the hostel offers a great atmosphere, with a lovely garden/patio where guests can gather for networking and meeting new people. the staff are friendly and create a family-like environment.
Sometimes it can be challenging to get into the bathrooms as they are shared among all the guests. during the winter, the rooms can get quite cold at night, so it's advisable to bring layers for warmth.
